1031 Tax Exchanges allow for the deferment of Capital Gains Taxes on Real Estate Investments by re-investing earnings into “Like-Kind” properties, similiar to a 401k rollover. The definition of “Like-Kind” is somewhat broad and as with anything involving Taxes and the IRS, we advise you to seek the council of a professional tax specialist.
